Hi l have a Vauxhall Tigra on a 1999/T Reg 1.6 16v the car smokes alot when you accelarate also checked oil and it is losing. what could this be???

quite simply the bores are worn,your burning oil.spend at least £500 on it [diy] or sell it..they were never a very good lump them.

In short, it is most likely that the engine is worn out. The most cost effective solution is a second hand engine, or sell the car for spares.

Engine wear. Could be piston rings, cylinder bores or valve guides.
A recon engine would be best bet if you think the rest of the car is worth keeping - it will probably get worse quickly.
