There is a split hose on my vectra, the hose runs from the turbo, behindthe engine and then to the right hand side, down to the front near the radiator. Any idea what this pipe is called?

l can also remove the top part of the hose easy enough but the bottom end will be much more tricky - any ideas?

Thanks for all the responces, it does sound like the 2.0 DTH engine..

l have changed the pipe, £80 from Vaux!

And the turbo now kicks in but smokes alot in 2nd gear and above.

It is the intercooler - turbocharger hose. If it is split, ur car is performance should be as flat as a pancake!

The other end of the pipe goes to the intercooler, attached to one side of the radiator. There is just a jubilee clip holding it on to the intercooler, it is probably easier to get to from underneath. You may have to take off the undertray.

This is the inter-cooler supply so if split it may dent the performance a little at the top end as the compressed intake air will not be as dense as it could be & so cannot burn as much fuel.
Rather than replacement u could consider hose repair tape from a car parts outlet which may well be successful in this case if u clean the area to be sealed well before using the tape.
It is cheaper as well & might be easier to get at than taking the whole pipe off though a new one would be better

Are u sure ur cars a di as the way u describe the setup it sound to me like u have a 2.0 DTH engine..
The di engine has a partly metal charge air pipe that bolts onto the top of the engine which then has a larger air pipe which connects directly to the engine.

If ur car has a 2.0Dth engine code u will have the high pressure turbo model fitted with a inter cooler & the black hose the comes from the turbo will be the Charge air hose & they always frequently splits. The charge air hose comes in 3 parts 1) hose from inter cooler to turbo 2) connecting adaptor link 3) charge air hose to turbo which
h is a longer curved pipe.
