been trying to find a cheap scan tool for my 1997 vectra 1.8
the more l read the more confused im getting my car has the 16 pin connector but have read that eu cars werent fitted with obd2/eobd (presume they are the same thing) standards until 2001
then l look at the products below and they say compatable with vectras ect from 1997 but say there for obd2 so your advice would be really appreciated.

if they do work which of the above if any are compatable and will they also read abs as well as ecu (want it mainly for ecu, but would be handy for abs as my warning light is now on, and l think its air in the abs unit new one just fitted as old one was knackered) the abs unit is a kesley hayes

All of those readers will work, but l do not think any of them will read ABS codes: The second unit says it can ''Read and clear fault codes from certain ABS, transmission and immobiliser modules'' - I'd contact the seller & specifically ask if it will do yours.

With a 16 pin connector you should be able to short two connectors together with a suitably shaped paperclip and then the codes will be blinked out by the dashboard ECU light.
